Resources from the The National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center

The National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center (OHRC) at
Georgetown University is pleased to announce the availability of new
resources to help professionals working in states and communities
plan, develop, and implement programs to help ensure that pregnant
women, infants, children, and adolescents receive optimal oral health
services. These resources were developed with support from the
Maternal and Child Bureau (MCHB), Health Resources and Services
Administration.

Oral Health Resource Bulletin: Volume XXVIII lists recently produced
materials, including final reports from MCHB’s Targeted Oral Health
Service Systems (TOHSS) projects. The bulletin also features materials
on data, policy, professional–client tools, professional development,
program development, public education, and quality assurance. An
electronic copy of the bulletin and others in the series is available
at http://www.mchoralhealth.org/materials/ResBulletins.html.

In addition, OHRC has produced Targeted MCH Oral Health Service
Systems Project Highlights, an online resource which features
activities and products from 20 TOHSS projects funded by MCHB from
2008 to 2011 to foster statewide approaches to preventing oral
diseases and promoting oral health program sustainability. Topics
include increasing age 1 dental visits for children at greatest risk
for oral disease, improving access to oral health services for
children with special health care needs, and ensuring restorative
treatment of active disease through dental sealant programs. This
document and more information about the projects and the materials
they’ve produced are available at
http://www.mchoralhealth.org/Projects/TOHSS.
