MedEdPORTAL Poster Session and Reception: "Excelling in Health Education Assessment"
2013 AAMC Annual Meeting - Philadelphia, PA
Sunday, November 3, 2013
5:30 - 7:30pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
MedEdPORTAL invites educators to submit a proposal for a scholarly poster that describes an assessment that has been developed for assessing competencies in health education.  Special consideration will be given to proposals that describe an assessment tool that is novel, timely and presented in a manner that facilitates implementation by others.  MedEdPORTAL seeks to promote the sharing of work that is aimed at advancing educational assessments and created by faculty across the health professions.

Please use the fields below to enter a proposal for a poster presentation to be held at the 2013 MedEdPORTAL Poster Session at the AAMC Annual Meeting.  Each proposal abstract should be no more than 500 words and should have the following headings as categorized below: Poster Title, Background & Description, Methods, Results, and Summary Points. Usage or outcomes data is preferred but not required.

Please note that in addition to submitting your proposal, you must also submit the actual assessment tool and associated content to Publications or iCollaborative prior to acceptance.  Please read the “Additional Requirements.”

Additional Requirements:

For proposals to be considered for inclusion in the Annual Meeting poster session, authors must also submit their described assessment tool to either MedEdPORTAL Publications or iCollaborative by September 1, 2013. This will ensure all posters contain unique URLs to the assessment tools available for download through MedEdPORTAL.

1. Submit to Publications (
www.mededportal.org/submit)  for formal peer review and publication of your work.  Submissions to Publications should include the educational activity on which the assessment tool is derived. In addition, both educational activity and assessment tool are required to have been classroom tested. To identify whether your materials meet the MedEdPORTAL Publications submission standards, please review the Publication Submission Standards.

2. Submit to iCollaborative (
www.mededportal.org/icollaborative/submit) for the promotion and sharing of your work across institutions without going through the formal peer review process.  To prepare your materials for submission to iCollaborative, please review the iCollaborative Submission Checklist.

Proposals are due by September 1, 2013 by 7pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
